An hour and half from Porto, is the National Park of Gerês, located in between upper Minho and Trás-os-Montes. It’s one of the greatest natural attractions in Portugal with boulder-strewn peaks, steep valleys, lush forest of oak and pine, not to mention, crystal clear rivers, streams and waterfalls.
This scenic park also shelters more than 100 granite villages that are well-preserved, since Portugal’s creation in the 12th century. In more secluded locations within the park you can find wild life like wolves, boars, badgers, otters, dears and wild horses. Apart from the wild animals, the most commonly seen are cows with long horns, goats, native sheep and “castro laboreiro” – one of the most colossal and beautiful Portuguese Shepherd dogs.
Located in the North-East of Spain, Catalonia is a mesmerizing province and home to a few of the most desirable wines in the country. The vineyards not only shape Catalonia landscape but its essence, traditions and historic legacy. About 30 minutes from Barcelona, you can immerse into wine world in five different counties, which make up the Penedès region. Apart from its large wine production, it’s also one of the oldest wine-producing regions in Europe with viniculture dating back to the 6th century.

The viniculture in Madrid is not well known, the winemaking in this region was introduced by Romans, however the first document of wine production is from the 13th century. Nowadays, in the surroundings of Madrid, there are three wine regions Arganda, Navalcarnero and San Martín all with its distinct climate and grapes.

It can be said that Toledo is one of Spain's most dazzling cities, carefully positioned atop a valley overlooking the Tagus River. It’s also known as the ‘city of the three cultures’, a place where (legend has it) Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities peacefully co-inhabited over the centuries. You may hear people referring to Madeira as an archipelago, the reason being, the main island is not alone. It has five uninhabited islands called Desertas and Selvagens Islands, but just 40km to the northeast of Madeira is the second largest Island of the archipelago “Porto Santo” Island. A picturesque and small island featuring beautiful 9km long beach with golden sand and incredibly turquoise waters…. Interesting fact, locals say its sand and seawater have therapeutic powers as they’re rich in iodine, calcium and magnesium, making it extremely beneficial for treating rheumatism and bone diseases.
