Commitment to Sustainability
On September 25th, the Portuguese Tourism Board (Turismo de Portugal) hosted an impactful event focused on fostering an Objective Commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) within the tourism industry. Set against the historic backdrop of the Montebelo Mosteiro de Alcobaça Hotel, it brought together industry leaders, including the Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, and Carlos Abade, President of Turismo de Portugal, to discuss how we can drive real change.
We’re thrilled to announce that Abreu was among 100 companies recognized with the "ESG Engaged" seal—a testament to our dedication to responsible tourism. This milestone reflects our efforts to integrate concrete and measurable ESG initiatives through the FOREST Platform (Organizational Sustainability in Tourism Reporting Tool), underscoring our commitment to sustainable practices that positively impact our planet and communities.
