Utrera

Utrera, a vibrant city in southern Spain, is located approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia. Known for its rich cultural heritage and lively festivals like the Feria de Utrera, it offers a charming escape into traditional Andalusian festivities just a short drive from Sevilla.

The Feria de Utrera traces its origins back to a humble livestock fair that accompanied the local pilgrimage to the Virgen de Consolación. Over the years, this celebration has evolved into one of the most prominent festivals in the province of Seville, coinciding with the patron saint festivities honoring the Virgen.

During these days, Utrera transforms into a bustling hub of festive activities that attract thousands of visitors from all over. Bullfighting and horseback rides are integral parts of the fair, adding a touch of Andalusian tradition to the atmosphere. Moreover, diverse concerts and flamenco performances, a genre deeply rooted in the city that has seen the birth of several renowned artists, further enriches the cultural experience.

The fairground, strategically located near Consolación Park, becomes the epicenter of the festivities. Here, numerous public “casetas” (stalls) managed by local associations and groups offer a welcoming space to enjoy traditional tapas and local wines in the company of friends and family.

The highlight of the fair occurs on September 8th, when the chapel of the Virgen de Consolación remains open day and night to welcome pilgrims and devotees who come to pay homage to Utrera's patron saint.

Join the celebration and discover the authentic essence of the Feria de Utrera, a festival that celebrates culture, tradition, and devotion in the heart of Andalusia.
